Purpose

We are an open and affirming church community engaging the rhythms of faith in the life of the city. We seek to be a church in which questions are asked, stories are shared, and hope is nurtured. We gather weekly for shared worship and fellowship that is rooted in tradition, but open to the new movements of the Spirit. We seek to be a faith community in which differences are respected and vulnerabilities are honored so that all people can connect to the love of God, the life of Christ, and the gift of the Spirit. 

Loop Church is: 

• A community of faith rooted in the Reformed Tradition of Christianity 

• A home for people in the city seeking to experience the love of God 

• A space of worship, fellowship, and connection guided by the Holy Spirit 

• A people who love their neighbors through acts of service, justice, and care

Vision

To live into the purposes God has called us, Loop Church envisions…

• offering intentional opportunities for spiritual growth and faith formation through regular worship, service, and study for community members of all ages. 

• existing within a diverse network of partnerships composed of other churches, organizations, and individuals in Chicago and abroad.

• securing a long term lease in Chicago’s Loop that offers a stable presence in the city and a meaningful relationship with a partner organization(s). 

• forming a ministry team of differing gifts and perspectives called to joyfully serve and guide the church into a more full and vibrant image of God’s beloved community.
